Push-up - Inside Reach with Hand Swipe

The push-up with inside reach and hand swipe is a variant on the push-up that develops rotational capacity through the body. It is a precursor for more advanced animalistic style movements.

 Cues:

  • Reach the leg underneath and across the body as you lower into your push-up

  • Support your weight on the outside of your reaching foot and the same side hand (they will now be on opposite sides of your body)

  • Swipe in "wax on" motion smoothly with the opposite hand and return to the original push-up position to finish

Mistakes:

  • Swiping too quickly

  • Swiping with the wrong arm

  • Failing to fully extend the swiping arm

  • Resting the hip on the ground at the bottom
