Kneeling Squat

The kneeling squat is a conditioning exercise for the quads and particularly the knees. It can be scaled, or advanced, in order to fit almost any skill level.

Cues:

  • Keep the torso vertical both down and coming back up

  • Scale as needed to prevent pain

Scale:

  • 1 - vertical torso negative, lean forward to stand

  • 2 - Lean forward both down and up

  • 3 - Reduce range of motion using a target to preserve accuracy

  • 4 - Use your hands to assist the movement as much as necessary

Errors:

  • Pushing through pain

  • Advancing to a more difficult version too soon
