Jump Rope

Jump rope is a dynamic warm up and can also be used in a conditioning setting. It requires and develops rhythm as well as high-eye coordination.

Single Unders:

  • Keep the body loose and relaxed and the spine neutral

  • Arms should be symmetrical when viewed from the front

  • Adjust cadence and speed on to develop control of the spin

  • Adjust between two feet and single foot jumping to increase body awareness and control

Double Unders:

  • Body should be loose and relaxed and symmetrical like single unders

  • Jump only as high as necessary to spin the rope twice per jump

  • Speed can be increased or decreased to permit more or less recovery
